Welcome to the Best Books On Faith!

Thanks so much for being here to talk about faith! And welcome to the Best Books on Faith. But what is “faith”? Well, some believe it’s synonymous with a church or religion. While this may be partly true, the term has a much deeper, important meaning than this. “If ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true.” Therefore, it is the faith one holds that will propel them towards a set goal or belief in some outcome. I like to compare faith to the gasoline that moves the engine of a car. Furthermore, some of the best books on faith can provide stories of faith and how individuals have been guided through life. Like you and me, this is contingent on our belief or faith in God, who is clearly moving us towards happiness and peace, in this life and the next.

Indeed, the reads listed here may be some of the Best Books on Faith. Nevertheless, it is not exhaustive, as there are numerous good books out there on faith and too many to list here. So, I encourage you follow the prompting of the spirit as you do your own research. If you’re on this page looking for solutions to life’s problems, I have faith in God’s plans for you. Whether here on this site, a book or God placing the answer in your mind, the sun will rise on your trials and tribulations. This is at the heart of faith. You must believe that He will direct you and that ultimately your rocking boat will find still waters. And with that, I give you some of The Best Books on Faith!

Mere Christianity

mere christianity, c.s. lewis, best books for faith

C.S. Lewis is an oft quoted author and ironically a former atheist. Like the story of the prodigal son in the bible, he was lost but “came to himself”. Therefore, Lewis’ classic read is a one of the Best Books on Faith because we’re all like the son who returned home after going astray. Furthermore, it is through self-induced pain and suffering in life that we build faith in the covenant path of Jesus Christ and His gospel found in the scriptures. One of the unique aspects of C.S. Lewis’ book on faith is its goal to bring believers together. Because if there is One God, then why are there so many religions and interpretations of the God’s word? I’ve pondered on this phenomenon often. Contention among followers of Christ does not promote faith. Side note: Mere Christianity began as a radio broadcast on the BBC during WW2 in 1941.

The Case for Christ

the case for christ

The Case for Christ is one of the Best Books on Faith because of the story behind this best seller. The author, Lee Strobel, is a former award-winning journalist who started out on a journey to basically disprove the Case for Christ. However, on his journey he was essentially disproven in his disbelief. Although, a former atheist, he is now a devout Christian and the author of 40 books. Also, Strobel was ironically converted to Christianity and found a faith, that he now shares with the world. He’s the founder of the Lee Strobel Center for Evangelism and Applied Apologetics at Colorado Christian University. Furthermore, The Case for Christ was made into an award-winning movie and was viewed by many around the world. Strobel’s conversion seems to be like a story out of the Bible!

Gentle and Lowly: The Heart of Christ for Sinners and Sufferers

Dane Ortland’s best seller on Amazon uses the powerful story from the Book of Matthew in the New Testament. Henceforth, in chapter 11 the Savior invite us to, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” Gentle and Lowly is one of the Best Books on Faith because it challenges the reader to evaluate their relationship with God. Furthermore, the hope is that the believer can develop a deeper faith in Christ through understanding what he actually was saying in Matthew 11. Christ simply asks us to “come unto me” and he will give us “rest”. It’s my experience that Christians place too much emphasis on perfection in this life. That’s a lot of pressure.

A believer building such a foundation is like a bird, building a nest one stick or twig at a time. Moreover, to withstand the storms that will attempt to destroy our faith, we must be diligent, and patient is this slow, arduous process. I hope you will share the Best Books on Faith with a believer in need of direction. We must always be mindful of God’s children who are looking for peace and comfort in the storms of life.
