Psalm 23:4-“I Will Fear No Evil”
Along with being one of the best bible verses from Psalms, 23:4 is undoubtedly one of the most popular. At the heart of this powerful bible verse is faith in the Lord. Accordingly, with the belief in God portrayed from this Psalm, I know that regardless of what trial or tribulation life may throw my way, I will arise victorious. Psalm 147:5-“Great is Our Lord”
Psalm 147:5 is a scripture verse that provides promise to those who place their trust in the Lord. This is one of the best bible verses from Psalms because it helps me understand God’s plan for his children. Unfortunately, too many discount the existence of God merely because tragic circumstances occur in life. Henceforth, these people cry, “why would a god allow bad things to happen to good people?”. Well, unfortunately I don’t have all the answers because like Paul said, we see the world “through a glass, darkly”. However, I have been through trauma, tragedy and difficulties. And through these hard times, I’ve been blessed to always seek out meaning in the long term. With faith in “His understanding” and “infinite” wisdom, I can take comfort that whether in this life or the next, the injustices encountered here in life will be made right.
Psalm 38:21 “Forsake Me Not, O Lord”
Who among the believers of the Lord has not been in a dark place, with limited hope, and cried out, “Forsake me not, O Lord: O my God, be not far from me”? This is one of the best bible verses from Psalms due to the fact that speaks to those struggling and looking for a light in the darkness. Moreover, I am reminded of my early days in addiction recovery and attending meeting of AA. Old timers would talk about throwing up foxhole prayers when tragedy struck. Furthermore, the Lord has a way of humbling his children and causing them to call out His name, when there are no other options. Surely each of us has been in these seemingly hopeless moments with nowhere else to turn.

Psalm 18:28-“Thou Wilt Light My Candle”
Psalm 18:28 is comforting bible verse to me because of the message it portrays. Also, when I read this verse, I’m reminded of the importance of a map. Like reliance on a light to guide someone through “darkness”, as the Psalm reads, a map provides direction to a believer. However, you first must ask, “why would I need a light or map”? Well, it’s all based having an end goal or destination. If you don’t know where you want to go, then what’s the point in having a light or map to provide vision or direction. Sadly, too many in life are aimlessly wandering because they do not possess a purpose. Because I know I am a Child of God, His candlelight will guide me through turbulent times and back into His presence someday. This is one of the best bible verses from Psalms because of the picture it paints.
Psalm 23:6-“Goodness and Mercy Shall Follow Me”
Who loves “goodness and mercy”? Psalm 23:6 is one of the best bible verses from Psalm because it speaks to the heart of the reader in the promise it offers. However, you need to understand that faith and action are connected to this promise. You’ll need to take action by following the commandments of the Lord. “I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever” is powerful! This message once again, is one of hope. We can sojourn through trying times with a belief that God will bring us back into his presence. Moreover, this means peace and happiness in this life and rest from sorrows in the life to come.
