Your life is waiting!
my short story
I’m 45 and tell my wife I’m still looking for my niche. Welcome home my friends. So, if you’re like me you’ve probably tried a few things along the way. Basically, I’ve worked on a farm, sold cars, tried carpentry, sold gourmet cupcakes and tried my hand at real estate. Nevertheless, in a long-drawn-out process of patience building, I’ve also been waiting on the FAA to let me a fly a small Cessna. But that’s a story for another time, in my quest for the next thing and sense of home base. Surprisingly, God has seen fit to bless my wife and I with a baby boy coming 3/25/24!
However, one thing that’s been a constant is working in healthcare for the better part of 20 years. The majority of that time has been in the behavioral health field. Consequently, my past with personal addiction recovery landed me there. But I believe we are chosen for our unique spot in life. Furthermore, helping people get clean and sober helped me put 15 years of sobriety together, one day at a time. At the moment I work on at psych hospital as a registered nurse. So, I guess you can say I’ve learned a thing or two about human behavior. What’s your story? And thanks so much for stopping by. Welcome Home!

Welcome Home my friends! So, as I was going back on some of my old Good Guy motivational content, I found this interview I did with my good friend and old roommate Dr David Jensen. Basically, he’s a Functional Medicine physician who actually helped me give up cigarettes back in the day. But when we were roomies, he was going through his residency while I was working at getting clean and sober. However, at the time it was around 2008. This video was filmed a couple of years ago and we had an epic time reminiscing! It was to talk about personal growth. Welcome Home!.

So, life comes at you pretty fast. And at the age of 45, my wife and I are expecting a baby boy. How do you prepare for such an experience? Undoubtedly, there are plenty of books out there, as I love to promote here at the Welcome Home site. But even then, a book can’t predict the curveballs that life inevitably throws at us. Furthermore, as my wife and I prepare to start over, I think back to my parents. Surprisingly, they were able to raise six kids. How did this miracle occur? Well, in hindsight, they were doing the best they could. They didn’t have a playbook. It’s funny because as a kid, I thought my parents were immortal.
Plus, when they hit the old age of 40, I thought they were ancient! However, reaching this “old age “opened my eyes super wide! I realized that firstly, I don’t know much. And second, I’ve gained a new respect for parents. Especially as mama and I are looking at no sleep and diaper duty in a few months. So, if you’re an experienced parent who feels me, can I get an amen? Seriously, thanks for visiting the site. Welcome Home! Because it’s a pleasure to have you here, sharing in all that life has to offer. Furthermore, my thoughts and prayers are with you, even if I don’t know you. Much love, Aaron.
