On my own journey, I’ve become obsessed with positive mindset books and just good reads in general. Currently I’m listening to Jordan B. Peterson’s Beyond Order: 12 More Rules for Life. I would definitely recommend it. So, you can most certainly look forward to finding out more about this jewel later in this article on the best positive mindset books. What is a positive mindset? Well, it’s a term we’ve all heard many times and surely used it in daily conversation as well. An individual with a positive mindset focuses on the good in life. When life goes south, a person who possesses a positive mindset looks for the silver linings in life. All the while, this person maintains an upbeat attitude, hoping to manifest a favorable outcome for all involved.

Now, does anyone implement a positive mindset perfectly, at all times life? Most definitely not! However, an individual who consistently strives for such a mindset can add to their knowledge base and life experiences through drawing on knowledge found in good reads. Learning from those with street credibility and valuable life details can compound our positive mindset and provide a much-needed boost into the unknown. Furthermore, it’s futile to travel any path in life alone. And it’s virtually impossible to obtain success in maintaining a positive mindset without learning from mentors and good books. Atomic Steps by Lawrence Conti is a self-help book written to simplify changing negativity into a positive mindset. This is one of my best positive mindset books because I like the idea of simplifying any process. For instance, how often do we get pumped up to change, take on a task or set out on a journey of some sort, only to fail or get burnt out? According to Good Reads, Conti is a retired businessman who seeks to help foster a positive mindset through a 7-day process. “Atomically small steps” allows a student of life to apply a weekly, flexible ritual to real change and to avoid feeling overwhelmed. It’s possible some reading this are old enough to remember the timeless classic “What About Bob?”? Just take those “baby steps” my friends!

Overthinking is an unhealthy behavior we can all identify with. How many out there can identify with an obsessive idea that is impossible to control or the sleeplessness nights from racing thoughts? Well, this is one of the best positive mindset books because it seeks to remedy these sorts of negative cycles. Furthermore, in this self-help book, Nick Trenton uses “scientific approaches to completely change the way you think and feel about yourself”. This is a sadly, painful way to live and I can speak from personal experiences that negative self-talk and anxiety over the future are not productive. This concept is reminiscent of my early addiction recovery. If I was a blogger back then, this book would absolutely make it on my list of Best Books for Addiction Recovery as well.

The Four Agreements is a classical positive mindset book that was first published in 1997. Written by Don Miguel Ruiz, it’s based on Ancient Toltec wisdom to rid ourselves of beliefs that essentially limit our potential. This in turn prevents the positive mindset we’re all seeking to obtain. In this timeless, self-help guide, The Four Agreements “offer a powerful code of conduct that can rapidly transform our lives to a new experience of freedom, true happiness, and love”. A good friend of mine gifted this book to me early on in my personal growth journey. I have fond memories of this buddy, who was there for me to bounce ideas off of and gain perspective on my mindset. This is one of my best positive mindset books because of the countless lives and minds it has most assuredly reshaped!

So, if you’re a motivational video junkie like me, then you’ve undoubtedly become familiar with David Goggins. In his positive mindset, memoir Can’t Hurt Me, David chronicles his transformation from being an overweight young man, success in military special forces and later as an ultra-athlete. This is one of the best positive mindset books because David uses the “40% Rule” to encourage others to push past pain and fear to unlock all the human potential we possess. Goggins is also a powerful motivational speaker, known for using colorful language to get his point across to those he hopes to inspire. I’m a big fan of his and would encourage you to seek out his motivational videos for a boost! These were inspirational in My Big Fat Weight Loss Story & Being a Late Bloomer.

Napoleon Hill’s timeless guide to success, Think and Grow Rich, should be on everyone’s must-read list. This classis is one of the best positive mindset books because it “offers a plan and principles for transforming thoughts into riches, including visualization, affirmation, creating a Master Mind group, defining a goal, and planning.” Furthermore, it was written after the Great Depression in 1937 and became a remedy for hard times. This book was also gifted to me early on in my positive mindset journey. Pick up a copy, change your mindset and pay it forward my friends!

So, like many readers out there, I’m a big Jordan B Peterson fan. He has a brilliant mind and doesn’t sugar coat concepts. Beyond Order: 12 More Rules for Life is one of the best positive mindset books out there. And why is that you may ask? Because in this follow up to 12 Rules for Life Peterson makes the reader perform self-evaluation. “Beyond Order” suggests that the world is unpredictable. Therefore, one must remain prepared for the unexpected of the chaotic world we inhabit. Basically, he recommends living with one foot in the order of today and the unknown chaos of tomorrow to live more peacefully. As a follow up to his successful books, Jordan B Peterson also does motivational speaking to assist people in understanding and being successful in life.
